A new judge has been assigned to decide the fate of the ex-director of the of the Killeen Housing Authority who is facing up to 10 years in prison after she admitted to embezzlement, and the sentencing hearing has been pushed back to mid-November.
The defendant, Deadra Johnson, is set to be sentenced on Nov. 18, by U.S. District Judge David Counts at the federal courthouse in Waco, according to the judge’s order that was filed on Oct. 14. The sentencing hearing was supposed to take place on Monday in Judge Alan D. Albright’s courtroom but the case was reassigned to Counts on Aug. 26, court records show.
Johnson pleaded guilty on Feb. 11 to one count of theft of government property. The court set an initial date of June 25, for sentencing, but the hearing date has been reset three times s
