ROCHESTER, Minn. — The aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm, has left Jamaica in dire need, and Lisette James of Rochester is stepping up to help. Her husband, who traveled to Jamaica to source ingredients for their restaurant, Francisco’s Caribbean Restaurant, is now stranded in Montego Bay, one of the areas hardest hit by the hurricane.
Lisette James shared her concerns about her husband's safety and the challenges he faces in the devastated region. "I couldn’t reach him for three days. He finally got internet last night. He said there’s no trees, no water, no electricity," James said.
In response to the crisis, James has launched a GoFundMe campaign aiming to raise $10,000 to aid the recovery efforts. So far, the campaign has gathered more than $3,000. The funds will be
