NEW JERSEY (PIX11) -- A devastating fire late Halloween night has left the Paterson community in mourning after a family of five, including three children, tragically lost their lives.
Shortly before 10 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to 15 Emerson Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey, after reports of a structure fire.
The blaze quickly erupted, fueled by strong winds that caused the flames to spread rapidly from the first floor to the upper level of the house. The fire’s intensity was so great that it melted part of the siding on the neighboring home.
The five victims—a 39-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman who were the parents, and three children aged 14, 12, and 7—were found together on the second floor, where they sadly succumbed to the fire.
