SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – Frees City is like any other small town in America, or more likely the ones you remember.
There’s a deli, and an auto shop, and an old cannon that’s been there for God knows how many years, and of course, the railroad. There’s crossing guards and patient commuters and one tautly postured man with a pet dachshund. There’s beautiful buildings straight out of a postcard, but there’s also its fair share of weathered planks and aging bricks. On summer days, the neighborhood kids gear up to play peewee football, or they’ll go for a game of hoops in an alley, or they’ll ride down the city’s slope of a road on their scooters and red Radio Flyer wagons. Two young’ins are speeding down the road right now, a bit too close to that green Chevy, pristine but shineless.
