PHOENIX — A man fleeing deputies crashed his vehicle near a terminal at Sky Harbor Airport, according to authorities
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened at around 1 a.m. Sunday, near Terminal 3 after the vehicle sped away from deputies when they attempted to make a traffic stop near Loop 202 and Priest Drive.
The sheriff's office said the vehicle was logged at 120 miles per hour while fleeing deputies.
Deputies attempted to catch up to the vehicle as it drove toward the airport.
"Due to the layout of the airport, the deputy was unable to turn around or drive in a different direction," the sheriff's office said. "Shortly thereafter, the vehicle crashed approximately half of a mile in front of the Deputy adjacent to the Terminal 3 ticketing/bag check."
