SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say three people have been hospitalized after a shooting at a child's birthday party in Sumter County on Saturday night.
The Sumter County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to the 4400 block of Broad Street around 10:30 p.m. regarding a shooting at a mobile home park.
Emergency personnel took two victims to Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, and a third victim was taken by helicopter to another area hospital, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office didn't have information on their conditions in a Sunday afternoon update. Authorities said the preliminary investigation suggests that the exchange of gunfire followed a dispute involving residents.
The sheriff's office said it would release more information as it becomes available.
