Nagpur: Sudden weather changes and strong winds on Sunday night made it impossible for two Indigo Airlines flights to land at Nagpur Airport. Both aircraft were diverted to alternate destinations as a safety precaution.

According to airport sources, flight 6E-7543 from Hyderabad was diverted to Raipur, while flight 6E-486 from Bengaluru was rerouted to Bhopal.

Around 7 p.m., the skies over Nagpur turned cloudy, followed by a spell of heavy rain. The Hyderabad flight was preparing to land around 8:30 p.m., but the pilot decided to divert the aircraft after assessing that strong crosswinds could endanger the landing. Around the same time, the Bengaluru flight also faced unfavourable wind conditions and was redirected to Bhopal.
