Triple murderer Erin Patterson has lodged an appeal against her convictions after being given the green light by the Courts of Appeal to challenge them.
Patterson was found guilty on July 7 of murdering three relatives of her estranged husband Simon Patterson - her former in-laws Don and Gail Patterson, and Gail’s sister Heather Wilkinson - by serving them a poisonous beef wellington lunch on July 29, 2023.
The 50-year-old was also found guilty of the attempted murder of Heather’s husband and local church pastor Ian Wilkinson, who survived the meal after a lengthy stint in hospital.
The panel of 12 jurors delivered their unanimous decision after seven days of deliberations in the Latrobe Valley courthouse precinct in Morwell, Victoria.
She was sentenced on September 8 to life in jail w
