Convicted triple-murderer Erin Patterson has formally lodged documents in the Victorian Court of Appeal as she attempts to overturn her convictions.

Patterson was earlier this year found guilty of murdering her parents-in-law , Don and Gail Patterson, and Gail's sister Heather Wilkinson, as well as attempting to murder Heather's husband Ian Wilkinson.

She served them beef Wellingtons containing poisonous death cap mushrooms during a lunch at her Leongatha house in 2023.

Patterson's lawyers flagged their intention to lodge an appeal last month.

They say they have now lodged the necessary documents with the court, but have not revealed what grounds they are basing their request on.

Patterson is serving a minimum prison sentence of 33 years and will be eligible for parole in 2056, when
