COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) - For 27 years, the National Home School Volleyball Tournament has given home schooled students an opportunity to compete for gold.
First Alert 6 spoke with senior Lyla Santo ahead of Saturday’s playoff game. Her team, the Omaha Metro Warriors, stepped into weekend competition looking to advance in the varsity girls bracket and keep their title hopes alive.
“I started as a pretty weak player, I had no idea what I was doing and I just kind of did it for the friends,” explained Santo. “I have grown to love the sport so much and to love the people as well. But also have grown so much in my ability to play and enough to make varsity as a senior.”
