SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) - Students and staff at South Sioux City Middle School put on a special program on Friday to honor veterans ahead of Veterans Day.
Students took to the stage to honor local veterans through music, speeches, poetry, and more. The program takes place every year to recognize local veterans.

Each year, students and the Quilt of Valor Foundation present a handmade quilt to thank veteran teachers for their service.
“These quilts are made by the quilters and out of their own pockets; we do it with the goodness of our hearts. Just because, I mean, I have a special spot for veterans. My brother is a veteran, my husband, myself, I’m a veteran. So it’s just near and dear to my heart.”
