Dare County’s Veterans Day 2025 Closures and Schedule Changes

All Dare County offices and facilities will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. This includes the Manteo Recycle Yard, the Dare County C&D Landfill and the Buxton Transfer Station.

The Manteo Recycle Yard, the Dare County C&D Landfill and the Buxton Transfer Station will reopen on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

Dare County Public Works —which provides trash collection for the unincorporated areas of the county and the Town of Kitty Hawk only—has also announced a revised schedule for residential and commercial trash collection.
