BELDEN, Neb. (KTIV) - One person is dead after a crash in Cedar County, Nebraska.

The Nebraska State Patrol says around 9:30 pm on Wednesday night, they were called to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 57, near Belden in Cedar County.

A preliminary investigation shows that a Ford Focus was traveling southbound on Highway 57 when it failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 20.

The Ford then struck the side of a semi traveling westbound on Highway 20.

The driver of the car, identified as 72-year-old Philip Durham, of Coleridge, Neb., was pronounced dead at the scene.

A teenage passenger in the Ford has been flown to Children’s Hospital in Omaha with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the semi was not injured.
