(KTIV) - The Wynot Blue Devils have won the D2 volleyball state championship.
The Blue Devils went up against the Cambridge Trojans on Saturday and came away with a 3-2 victory. This is the school’s first volleyball state title in program history.
The match started around 9 a.m. in Lincoln’s Pinnacle Bank Arena, where Cambridge took the first set 25-19. Wynot responded by taking the second 25-21. The teams would eventually tie things up 2-2, with Cambridge winning the third 25-16, and Wynot taking the fourth 25-17.
It then became a race to 15, and the Blue Devils ended the final set 15-5.
The Blue Devils entered the championship game with an overall record of 30-4 and were the first seed in the tournament. The Trojans were the third-seed team and had an overall record of 28-7.
