NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. —
South Carolina representative and candidate for governor Nancy Mace held a news conference Monday after being involved in a confrontation with airport police in Charleston.
An incident report obtained by NBC News states Charleston International Airport Police had arranged to escort Rep. Mace to her flight Thursday morning, but there was a mix-up about her vehicle.
The report says officers found Mace at a crew entrance TSA checkpoint. It states Mace began cursing at officers and berating them.
A police report said Mace repeatedly used the "F" word and called the officers incompetent.
TSA agents are among the federal workers who are working without pay during the shutdown.
