NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC/WIS) - U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace addressed what she calls security breaches at Charleston International Airport days after allegedly berating airport police.
Mace spoke with reporters early Monday following an incident on Thursday morning that she says put her safety at risk.
“The only reason we’re addressing this publicly is because of the airport’s politically motivated decision to release misleading information and compromise my safety,” Mace said.
Mace receives more than 1,300 threats per year, requiring coordination with airport security on each flight, her team said in a release Monday morning.
She said Thursday’s incident was not isolated but rather part of “a pattern of neglect and hostility” unique to the Charleston International Airport.
