Anthony Williams has faced court on multiple counts of attempted murder following a horrific stabbing spree on a London-bound train.

A total of 11 people were rushed to hospital for various injuries following the attack on a Doncaster to London train on Saturday evening, local time, with all but five subsequently discharged.

Of those still hospitalised, a rail worker who confronted the alleged attacker, was confirmed to be in a critical, but stable, condition on Monday.

Williams, 32, was one of two men arrested following the horrific incident, the other man was later released without charge after police determined he had not played a role in the attack.
