MINNEAPOLIS — Election Day is Tuesday and Minneapolis residents will vote on local races that include mayor, city council and parks board.

Ahead of the big day, the City of Minneapolis announced Monday that this year's early voting total is the second-highest ever for a municipal election. About 9% of eligible voters in the city have already cast a ballot.

The highest voter turnout for a municipal election in Minneapolis was in 2021.

Minneapolis has 255,980 registered voters, which is around 58% of Minneapolis' total population.

Early voting is still available on Monday until 5 p.m. Mail ballots can be dropped off at the Minneapolis Elections & Voter Services building.
