SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Simpsonville police have identified the victim of a deadly shooting.

Police say the shooting happened at an apartment complex on Buck Creek Road around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29. Shelby County EMS arrived on the scene to find a woman who had been shot. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for Simpsonville PD said the shooting is being investigated as a homicide.

WAVE spoke to a neighbor who described what they heard. They did not what to share their identity.

“I just heard a lot of loud noise and commotion,” they said. “I thought someone was banging on the door. But I don’t know if it was that or the shot. I just wish that this didn’t happen.”
