SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. —

Simpsonville police have identified the woman who was shot and killed inside an apartment last week.

Police responded to the 200 block of Buck Creek Road on Oct. 29 just after midnight about shots fired. This is near the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass.

Officers found 41-year-old Brenda Selene Chiquita Acua fatally shot inside an apartment.

Simpsonville police said evidence leads them to believe the shooting is a homicide.

They have not made any arrests.

According to Simpsonville Police Department Chief Thomas Brummer, Acua lived in the apartment with her son.

This marked the first homicide in Simpsonville this year.
