Barrington commission still waiting for dugout covers at Chianese Park

Fletcher Thomson began attending the Barrington Park and Recreation Commission meetings in 2019. He joined the commission in 2020. And throughout his entire time on the commission, he has been asking the town to build shade covers on the dugouts at Chianese Park Little League baseball field.

In March, it appeared Thomson’s wish had been granted.

At the March 3 meeting, members of the Barrington Town Council approved a list of priority field improvement projects, although the motion stopped short of fully funding the work. Instead, it called for the town manager to further explore the projects, which could be later funded by a $4.5 million field improvement bond. (The dugout covers are estimated to cost $15,000.)
