CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The University of Virginia urged the community to "RUN, HIDE, FIGHT" after posting that an "active attacker with a gun" was near the Shannon Library at 160 McCormick Road.

At 4:45 p.m., UVA officials issued an "ALL CLEAR," adding that their investigation resulted in no evidence of an attacker being found. They are investigating if a false report was made.

The original post was made to the UVA Department of Safety and Security's X page around 3 p.m. That page will have the most updated information regarding the incident.

Police added that no threat appeared to be on Grounds or nearby, and that normal operations could resume.
