CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A Hickory man is facing multiple charges, including cocaine trafficking, after investigators said they discovered drugs and firearms during a traffic stop and subsequent search warrant execution.
Ta'Shawn Thomas Byrd, 31, was arrested Wednesday following a vehicle stop conducted by Catawba County Sheriff's Office narcotics investigators as part of an ongoing cocaine trafficking investigation.
During the stop, investigators developed reason to search Byrd's vehicle and discovered approximately 291 grams of cocaine, two Draco firearms, and one pistol, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
As part of the investigation, narcotics investigators also executed a search warrant at a Hickory apartment, where they seized approximately 4.83 grams of cocaine,
