MINERAL COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A man from New York is dead after a semi-truck went off the side of Wolf Creek Pass Monday morning, according to Colorado State Patrol.
CSP said troopers responded to the crash involving one semi-truck around 8:21 a.m. on Highway 160, 17 miles north of Pagosa Springs, before the scenic overlook.
According to troopers, a 2020 Freightliner hauling a container filled with canned drinks was traveling south on Highway 16 near milepost 161 when the truck hit a barrier wall on the right side of the highway and bounced off.
The semi then reportedly rolled through the guardrail on the left side and fell down the steep embankment, destroying both the cab and trailer.
The driver, identified by troopers as a 23-year-old man from New York, was not immediately found in
