EXIRA, Iowa —
How did a plow end up at the center of an old oak tree in 1995?
Railroad workers in Exira, Iowa, discovered the site just 100 yards from an old bridge.
The plow, which dates back to the American Civil War, sparked theories to form throughout the town.
One theory was a worker "g ot done plowing one evening. He just leaned up against a tree, went home and the next day he went to the civil war."
Another said one of the town's residents gave up farming and abandoned the plow when he moved.
The origin will remain unknown, giving the town a mysterious history.
