Sacramento police are investigating a crash on Sunday evening that left one person dead.
Officers responded to the area of Del Paso Boulevard and Marysville Boulevard just before 6:30 p.m., where they located a pedestrian down in the roadway, police said.
The driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene, police said.
Police initially said they thought that the pedestrian had been struck by two vehicles with the first vehicle fleeing the scene. But further investigation showed there was just one vehicle believed to have been involved, police said.
The driver was not suspected of being impaired by drugs or alcohol, police said.
Sacramento police encourage anyone with any information regarding this incident to contact the police department.
