BURLEY, Idaho — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple in Burley has been completed after nearly three years of construction. It is the seventh temple built in Idaho.
Crews broke ground on the temple in June 2022 and completed construction in late 2025. The temple is one of 210 dedicated temples worldwide. Over 100 temples are slated for construction, with 62 currently being built, according to the church's website.
Members of the LDS church comprise about a quarter of Idaho's population, according to data from the church. That makes the church the largest religious body in the state. Idaho also ranks second by percentage in the U.S. for the most people belonging to the religion -- after Utah. Elders said the Burley temple fills a significant need for more than 400,
