INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and Amazing Grace Christian Church hosted their annual "Prayers for Our City" event Monday night.
The event, which was held at Amazing Grace Christian Church on East 16th Street, featured speeches from John Russell — the manager of IMPD's chaplain's office — and Bishop Preston T. Adams III.
In the release it sent before Monday's proceedings, IMPD indicated that "Prayers for Our City" is "an annual event that brings our community together in unity, reflection and hope for Indianapolis." Department officials said the gathering "provides an opportunity for residents and officers to stand side-by-side in prayer for the safety, healing and well-being of everyone who calls Indianapolis home."
