A lease is set to be agreed for Glasgow’s Charles Rennie Mackintosh -designed Lighthouse, which will see the building used by start-up firms working on climate technology.

Glasgow City Council would receive rental income of “8 per cent of the revenue generated” as a result of the deal with Sustainable Ventures Ltd, a climate tech incubator.

Talks with the company were approved earlier this year after officials reported the plan could secure “private sector investment that will transform the Lighthouse into a net zero innovation hub”.

Councillors are being asked to approve a 99-year lease when they meet on Thursday. It would be subject to planning approval and funding.
