CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Teams will work together on Tuesday to remove sunken boats from the Ashley River and surrounding waterways.
Wounded Nature – Working Veterans, a nonprofit organization that partners with volunteer boaters and veterans to remove debris and abandoned vessels from coastal areas - has been working to keep our rivers and harbors safe and clear of navigational hazards for years.
Divers from Towboat Charleston and the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office will team up with volunteers from the nonprofit to remove sunken boats from the downtown anchorage area.
Leaders with Wounded Nature – Working Veterans said the operation will take place across from Safe Harbor City Marina along the Ashley River.
