The body of Alicia Douglass, a 35-year-old mother from Sheffield, was discovered weeks after her death, raising serious questions about the circumstances surrounding her demise. Authorities found her decomposing body at her residence in Walling Close, with a knife located under her pillow. Alicia, who left behind a six-year-old daughter, was last seen on CCTV on July 23. South Yorkshire Police initially arrested her ex-partner, a 31-year-old man, on suspicion of murder. However, he was never charged, and the investigation was closed last year. During a hearing at Sheffield Coroner’s Court, it was revealed that police could not determine the cause of death due to the advanced state of decomposition. A pathologist estimated that Alicia had been dead for “two to four weeks” before her body was discovered. The court also noted that there was no evidence of third-party involvement at the scene. Police were called to the property following concerns for Alicia's welfare, but the case remains unsolved, leaving many unanswered questions about her tragic death.
