Residents are being evacuated from their homes and a number of roads have been closed after a suspicious device was found near a police station.

A bomb squad has descended on Boston Police Station on Lincoln Lane near to where the device was found. Lincolnshire Police said it was alerted to the discovery at 11:33am via the Force Control Room.

People have been urged to avoid the area while the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit assess the device. 16:12 Ethan Blackshaw

Roads closed

A number of roads have also been closed, including Lincoln Lane, Rosegarth Street, Lawrence Lane, Irby Place and St Botolph's Bridge. The bus station on Rosegarth Street has also been affected.
