URBANA, Ohio (WOIO/TMX) - An investigation is underway after a large fire tore through almost an entire city block in Ohio on Monday, officials said.

The Urbana Fire Division responded shortly before 1 p.m. Monday to a reported fire on the 300 block of West Court Street in Urbana. Firefighters arrived to find multiple structures engulfed in flames.

Some nearby residents were temporarily evacuated while firefighters worked for several hours to extinguish the blaze on the densely developed block. Several nearby agencies responded to provide assistance, including JSP Fire, Macochee EMS, Mechanicsburg Fire, Moorefield Township Fire, Northeast Champaign County Fire, and West Liberty Fire.
