HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — A day after the judge agreed to lower former North Carolina State Rep. Cecil Brockman's bond amount, court records show a modified release order has been issued outlining the conditions of his bond.
Brockman (D-District 60) was arrested and charged on Oct. 8 with two counts of indecent liberties and two counts of statutory sex offense. The magistrate initially denied him bond, alleging that he had attempted to make contact with his underage victim while they were hospitalized and used his influence as a state legislator to try and contact them.
After his first appearance, which was delayed after a brief stint in the hospital, his bond was set at $1.05 million. His attorney requested the bond be lowered, and, on Monday, a judge agreed to lower it to $250,000.
