A Huntsville man was arrested on multiple charges after police say he sexually abused a child.

According to Huntsville Police, about 8 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to a local hospital to make a report for possible sexual assault of a child.

Officers learned the possible incident happened in a home where the suspect, 24-year-old Lorenzo Jermone Earskine Jr., resides.

A member of HPD's Special Victims Unit was called to the scene to lead the investigation.

Police say the investigation revealed Earskine forced himself upon a child sexually the day prior, on Friday.

Officers located Earskine and detained him for the investigation.

Earskine was charged with rape, sodomy, and sexual abuse of a child.

He was booked into the Madison County Jail Saturday night.
