BOISE, Idaho — This story originally appeared in the Idaho Press .

The Boise Airport announced the start of a food drive Monday for workers impacted by the federal government shutdown.

The food drive’s announcement comes as the shutdown has eclipsed a month in duration and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers and air traffic controllers missed their first paycheck Tuesday , Oct. 28, after previously receiving partial paychecks.

In addition to supporting these workers, donations from the drive will also support employees at the airport who are Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients as well as members of the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC), which coordinates wildland fire response in a campus located adjacent to the Boise Airport.
