ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Rockford City Council has voted in favor of a proposal for national coffee shop chain Dutch Bros. Coffee to build a location on E. State Street.

Dutch Bros is known for specialty coffee drinks, smoothies, teas, and Rebel energy drinks.

The company plans to build its Rockford location in the parking lot of Ashley Furniture, at 7131 East State Street.

The chain was founded in Oregon in the 1990s, and has over 1,000 locations nationwide.
