CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Over the weekend, more than 200,000 West Virginians relying on food assistance got a temporary lifeline when a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to release SNAP benefits for November, though uncertainty and delays continue to strain local nonprofits.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture will be depleting the remaining $4.65 billion of contingency funding, appropriated by Congress, to pay 50% of November's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.
