BATON ROUGE, La. —

Louisiana State University has chosen its next president.

LSU announced Tuesday that Wade Rousse would be the university's newest president after an hourslong executive session. Advertisement

Rousse, who was previously the president of McNeese State University, expressed his gratitude for the appointment, saying he was honored to be chosen.

The University of Alabama's executive vice president and provost, James Dalton, has been named executive vice president and chancellor at LSU.

Gov. Jeff Landry praised the moves, saying this structure will help the university meet the demands of today.
