A factory worker who had downed 12 drinks before he decided he had a hankering for McDonald's has been fined $820 and disqualified from driving for six months.

Zackery Ernest Millwood pleaded guilty in the Burnie Magistrates Court on Tuesday to a charge of drink driving.

Millwood was pulled over in Formby Road, Devonport, at 12.10am on August 10 this year after he had ordered food through the drive-through.

She told the 29-year-old he would have felt the effects of the 12 drinks he had consumed before jumping in the car and driving to Devonport, and that should have made him rethink his decision.
