Traffic operations were underway at Spreyton, Latrobe and Quoiba for three hours following the Melbourne Cup yesterday.
Western Road Policing Services conducted 362 random breath tests, and while Acting Inspector Martin Parker said a majority of road users were doing the right thing, police detected four drink drivers.
One speeding driver and one suspended driver in an unregistered and uninsured vehicle were also caught.
