LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Emergency crews responded to a plane crash and large fire at a Louisville, Kentucky, airport on Tuesday.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said police and fire personnel responded to Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport for the plane crash shortly after 5 p.m.

According to the FAA, the UPS aircraft crashed shortly after taking off. A shelter-in-place was issued for locations within 5 miles of the airport. (Paul Cook, X|@Katie_George05)
