Former Bengals tight end and NFL broadcasting legend Bob Trumpy has tragically passed away at the age of 80, the team announced on Sunday.
He might not be as well-known as other notable tight ends, but he certainly made a name for himself.
Trumpy was so good in his time that he set Bengals tight end records and made four Pro Bowls during his career.
“Bob Trumpy’s impact will forever echo through The Jungle. Our hearts are with the Trumpy family,” the team said on Instagram while posting a picture of the tight end while in uniform.
Death can often come out of nowhere at times.
Trumpy’s death comes a few days after University of San Francisco athletic director and former NFL player Larry Williams suddenly died during a workout on campus.
