IOWA CITY — The first College Football Playoff rankings of the season were released on Nov. 4, and Iowa football landed at 20th.
The Hawkeyes are 6-2 overall, including 4-1 in the Big Ten. They have notched wins over UAlbany, UMass, Rutgers, Wisconsin, Penn State and Minnesota. Four of Iowa 's five power-conference victories have come by double-digits. That includes Wisconsin and Minnesota, which Iowa outscored by a combined 78-3.
Iowa's losses to Iowa State and Indiana came by a combined eight points. The Hawkeyes' offense sputtered in a 16-13 road loss to Iowa State. Iowa played Indiana closer than any other team this season, falling in a tightly contested 20-15 loss.
