Early voters chose Deputy Mayor Sharon Owens, a Democrat, with 76% of the vote over three opponents, according to unofficial results posted Tuesday after the polls closed.
Republican Tom Babilon won about 17% of early votes. Independents Alfonso Davis and Tim Rudd each won about 3.3%.
The early vote includes 3,658 early in-person and absentee ballots.
In Syracuse, 3,592 people voted early. About 66% of the early voters in Syracuse were Democrats compared to 17% independent and 15% Republicans.
The early vote total also includes absentee ballots received so far at the elections board. About 1,114 absentee ballots have been requested, but not yet received.
