Early numbers show voters rejecting a 15% maintenance and operations override for the Peoria Unified School District, according to unofficial results.

The no votes lead with 52.56% of the tally, or 19,008 votes. The yes votes have 47.44% of the tally, or 17,153 votes.

An override funds positions and programs that might not be possible through annual funding received each year from the state of Arizona.

If approved by voters, the override would be funded through secondary property taxes from residential and commercial properties within the district.
