All five Phillipsburg Town Council seats appeared on Tuesday’s general election ballot thanks to the unexpected resignations of two Republican council members earlier this year.
According to unofficial results, it appears that voters have picked four Democrats and one Republican to serve on the new council to be seated in 2026.
The results posted by Warren County shortly after 11 p.m. for three four-year seats on council show Democrat incumbent Keith Kennedy leading the candidates with 1,811 followed closely by Democrat Bernie Fey, a former town councilman, with 1,808 votes. Democrat incumbent Lee Clark secured the third seat with 1,790.
Republican Council President Peter J. Marino finished fourth with 1,705 votes and will not be returning to council next year if the unofficial result
