MUSKEGON, Mich. — With the full unofficial results in, Muskegon voters appear to have spoken.

According to those results voters in the City of Muskegon across the city's nine precincts have chosen to keep first-term Mayor Ken Johnson in office for another four years.

Johnson vied for his second term against local businessman Bob Garretson, who had crafted his message to voters around what he saw as a different and more collaborative approach to the mayor's office.

Johnson had campaigned on what he felt had been good, incremental progress made in a number of areas during his tenure.

According to unofficial results posted by the county, Johnson prevailed with roughly 63% of the citywide vote.
