ROCKFORD, Mich. — Voters in Rockford have voted no on a bond proposal for Rockford Public Schools in Tuesday's general election.
The Rockford Public Schools district asked residents to approve a $230 million bond designed to fund wide-reaching improvements across the district.
Some of the improvements would have included: adding air conditioning to schools that need it, improving safety, facility upgrades, playground upgrades and more. You can read more about the proposed improvements here .
If it had been approved, funding from the bond would have been issued over three disbursements in 2026, 2028 and 2032.
The district said the bond proposal would not have increased tax rates beyond the 7.0 mills levied in 2025.
