MUSKEGON, Mich. — Muskegon Mayor Ken Johnson will serve another term in office after defeating challenger Bob Garretson in a landslide Tuesday, according to unofficial results from the county.
Muskegon voters overwhelmingly supported Johnson, who defeated his opponent by over 25 points.
Johnson was first voted into office in 2021 and began his term in 2022. His new term will begin in 2026 and last through 2029.
Johnson told 13 ON YOUR SIDE his priorities in his second term would be housing, public safety, programming, environmental sustainability and public access to Muskegon Lake.
Before being elected mayor in 2021, Johnson served two terms as an at-large city commissioner.
